Milito signs for Independiente

Milito will be missed

Former Barcelona player, Gabriel Milito was freed by the club and is no longer needed for his services. He joined Independiente as a free agent. Although he has a year or more left on his contract with Barca.

Milito played for Independiente from 1997 to 2003. He said he chose to join them so he could be closer to his children.

Milito spoke: “I am very happy to be able to return to my country and my home. I felt the necessity to return to Independiente. We got together and talked about this possibility, and finally it could be completed,” he added, “Today is a very special and emotional day for me, I left the club eight years ago and the truth is that I always dreamed of returning, so this is a dream come true. I hope this stint will be as good as my first one.”

Milito has played for 75 matches wearing the Barca shirt. Gabriel has suffered a series of harsh injuries that kept him out for long periods.
